Stealth packaging and discreet shipping are among the most specialized skills in the darknet vendor ecosystem. Physical delivery is the point where digital anonymity intersects with the physical world. No amount of Tor usage or Monero privacy protects a package that is detected during postal inspection.
Common Stealth Techniques
Vacuum sealing: Most experienced vendors vacuum-seal products to eliminate odor. Multi-layer vacuum sealing with activated carbon barriers is standard practice for odor-producing substances.
Disguised packaging: Items are commonly hidden inside mundane commercial products - food packaging, household items, books, clothing. The exterior packaging appears to be a legitimate commercial product and survives cursory inspection.
Return addresses: Legitimate-looking return addresses using business names that plausibly match the contents reduce the probability of targeted inspection.
What Buyers Should Know
Buyer OPSEC around packages matters as much as vendor stealth. Be present when packages arrive. Destroy all packaging immediately. Document nothing that connects the package to its origin. For complete buyer security guidance, see our OPSEC guide.
